The Hot Club Trio
- 2 Guitars and Double Bass - The core of the style
Our most intimate and essential formation, the trio distills the heart of jazz manouche into its purest form. With driving rhythm and intricate guitar interplay, this setup highlights the essence of Django’s music. You can experience this swinging sound every two weeks at Les Climats, where we bring this timeless tradition to life.
The Hot Club Quartet
- Expanded Sound with Violin, Clarinet or voice -
With the addition of a violin, clarinet or a singer, the quartet brings new textures and expressive depth to the music. This formation enriches the melodic range, allowing for soaring improvisations and dynamic interplay that elevate the swing to new heights.
The Hot Club Quintet
- The Original Hot Club ensemble! -
Modeled after the legendary Quintette du Hot Club de France, this lineup—featuring two rhythm guitars, a solo guitar, bass, and violin or clarinet—delivers the closest experience to Django Reinhardt’s original sound. With a stomping groove and vibrant solos, this is jazz manouche at its most authentic.
